Needlework

Most of my needlework is freestyle stitching either on old photographs or worn-down clothing with holes. I'm drawn to visible mending as an artistic practice that embraces flaws, slowness, and humanity as opposed to speed, uniformity, and the erasure of humanity common in modern sewing factories. It's both an art and a way of thinking, viewing damage as a foundation for creativity and originality.
